Timo Korstenbroek

Timo Korstenbroek holds an MSc-degree in Sociology from VU Amsterdam from which he graduated cum laude in 2017, as well as an MSc in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he graduated cum laude in 2018. During his studies, he focused on processes of political identity formation within contested Dutch debates around citizenship and national identity issues, and the challenges and opportunities of creating spaces that can challenge dominant discourses within the (digital) public sphere. He is currently working as a junior researcher at the Refugee Academy where he is part of the “Learning Crossroads for Refugee Inclusion” research project, which focuses on the past, present and future role of civil society initiatives dealing with the reception and inclusion of refugees in the Netherlands. Furthermore, he also assists in coordinating the activities of the ISR’s Polarization Lab, and is involved in teaching activities within the Sociology bachelor.
