When will the conference take place? Where is it located?
The conference will take place on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 April 2020 at the Free University Amsterdam. The address is: de Boelelaan 1105, 1081 HV Amsterdam.

The conference takes place at various rooms within the main building of the university. Please consult the pages Directions and Map for more information on how to get to the university and how to find your way to the main building.

How can I register? What are the registration rates?
You can register via the page Fees and Registration, where you will also find the rates.

Is there funding available to help with travel/registration costs?
Unfortunately, we do not provide any funding.

How do I find a place to stay near the conference venue?
You can find our suggestions on the page Accommodation.

I only want to attend one day of the conference, is that possible?
Although we prefer full attendance, it is possible to attend one day. Fee rates will however remain the same regardless of your attendance.

I just want to attend one session. Is that possible to do without registering for the conference?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to attend the venue without registration.

When will the university be open?
The Free University Amsterdam opens at 07.00h and closes at 23.00h.

What services are available for special needs and requests?
Via the registration form, which can be found on the page named Fees & Registration, you can inform us of any dietary requests.

I’m a presenter – is there a PowerPoint template I should be using?
Yes, every speaker will be provided a template via e-mail.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
If you wish to receive a certificate of attendance, please write us and we will make sure to provide you with one via e-mail.

What is the cancellation policy for the conference?
Registration fees are refundable, up until 19 March. No refund will be issued for cancellations starting 20 March 2020.

All cancellations must be sent in writing via e-mail to the conference registrar at resilient.identities.fsw@vu.nl.
Please e-mail cancellations, if possible, and expect confirmation within three business days.

The Institute for Societal Resilience is not responsible for problems beyond our control such as weather conditions, campus conditions, travel difficulties, visa problems, health issues, etc. No refunds will be given in these situations if occurring after 19 March.

I am an overseas participant and need a letter of invitation before I can receive my visa. What is the procedure?
We will provide letters of invitation upon request to registrants only if after the payment of the registration fee.
