Professor Femke Kaulingfreks is a lecturer in Youth and Society at het kenniscentrum De Gezonde Samenleving, at Inholland University of Applied Sciences. In her lectorate she focuses on complex and current social issues related to growing up, upbringing and education.

Her practice-oriented research focuses on empowering young people in a vulnerable position. The focus is on youth empowerment in the neighborhood, growing up resiliently and the changing professionalism of youth professionals. In addition, she looks at how informal and professional assistance can reinforce each other. This results in research reports and hands-on advice for youth professionals and methodology development in the youth sector and education.
